A Weekend of Puppy Yoga & Purpose

At Woodrock Animal Rescue, connection is at the heart of everything we do. This past weekend was a beautiful reflection of that.

We partnered on not one, but two puppy yoga experiences across Johannesburg, bringing together movement, mindfulness, and rescue in a truly special way.

At our farm in Hennops Valley, Wellness Club hosted Paws and Poses: a joyful flow of wagging tails, deep stretches, and plenty of puppy love in every pose.

At the same time, our pop-up adoption space at Nine Yards in Parktown North (home to our weekly Pop-Pup adoption drives) became a calm, considered space for yoga with The Well Nine Yards. Guests found their centre, held their downward dog, and connected with our rescue pups in between.

Wellness is our heartbeat

At Woodrock, we know that animals are more than companions - they are deeply therapeutic.

This belief is embedded in our work. From our Paws @ Work programme (which brings the calming, stress-reducing presence of rescue animals into workplaces to support employee wellbeing and team connection) to our Cat Café, a tranquil space open daily from 9am to 5pm at Upper Level, Kyalami Corner, Kyalami, Johannesburg, where visitors can slow down and connect with our resident cats.

These puppy yoga sessions are a natural extension of that philosophy by creating space for people to pause, breathe, and reconnect, all while supporting rescue animals on their journey to loving homes.

To everyone who came out and shared the experience with us, thank you for showing up, staying present, and being part of a community that understands the power of connection.
