Danville Outreach: Bringing Care To The Community

At Woodrock, outreach is at the heart of what we do. It’s how we bring prevention and care directly into communities, supporting both animals and the people who love them.

On Friday, 20 March, our team visited Danville, a community west of Pretoria where many rely on outreach support to give their animals the veterinary care they desperately need.
ON THE DAY:
80 dogs vaccinated against rabies
80 dogs dipped, dewormed, and treated for ticks and fleas
8 animals treated for mange
25 dogs treated for flea allergy dermatitis (FAD)
This, though, was more than an on-day outreach.

We brought back a cat with a respiratory infection, a cat that had been shot with a pellet gun and will undergo surgery, and a dog with a wound to the hind leg.
In addition, over the next few days, we returned to Danville to collect 20 animals for sterilisation, one of the most important ways we can prevent future suffering.
Our outreach work in Danville is only one example of our Woodrock works in the community – providing care, prevention, and showing up where it matters most.
