Jasper Gets A Second Chance

He arrived matted; his face hidden by years of neglect. But underneath the heavy tangled curls was a special young boy with so much love to give.

Jasper came to us during an outreach in Danville after his owner said they no longer wanted him.

We were told he was “attacking the other dogs” and needed to be taken away. But the dog who arrived told a very different story.

Jasper was severely matted, his coat completely covering his eyes.

Had he ever been groomed in his young life?

Once shaved, we also discovered that part of his paw was missing. Our clinic suspects it might have been something he was born with, but we will never know for certain.

What we can tell you is that, in the process, a gentle and sociable little boy emerged. A dog affectionate and yearning for a connection.

That connection arrived not long after – a family who welcomed him with open arms. Today, Jasper is showing his true personality; incredibly sweet and sociable as he settles into a home where he feels safe.

And the same dog who, it was claimed, couldn’t be around others, now has a bestie of his own.
