At Woodrock Animal Rescue, our Puppy Fostering Program lies at the very heart of what we do. It’s an act of love, compassion, and hope — a bridge between rescue and forever. When you choose to foster, you open your heart and home to a little life that needs care, comfort, and the chance to grow into the dog they’re meant to be.

Every puppy deserves a safe place to learn about love — and that’s where our foster families come in.

What Fostering Entails

Fostering a puppy means welcoming them into your home and providing what every young dog needs most: warmth, patience, and a sense of belonging.

Provide a temporary home: You’ll care for a puppy for a few weeks to a few months, depending on their journey toward adoption.
Offer love and care: You’ll nurture their confidence, guide their socialisation, and help them feel secure in a family environment.
Receive full support: Woodrock provides all the essentials — food, supplies, veterinary care, and guidance. You provide the heart.

Becoming a Puppy Foster

Fostering usually lasts 2 to 6 weeks, though sometimes shorter or longer depending on adoption timelines. During that time, you’ll be giving a rescued puppy the best possible start in life.

Woodrock walks with you every step of the way — offering support, supplies, and our famous Puppy Pop-Pup events, where the public can meet your foster pups and fall in love in person. Attendance at these weekend adoption events is essential — it’s where magic happens and forever homes are found.

You’ll also have our help with social media networking, so your foster puppy gets the visibility they deserve.
